Cal Poly Pomona will celebrate its sixth annual National Transfer Student Week on Oct. 17-25 with a series of in-person and online events.
Students will have the opportunity to learn about transfer student resources, grad school, and financial literacy, joining a student club and organization, and being engaged as a transfer student. The events are hosted by Associated Students, Inc. and the PolyTransfer program.
The transfer student community at CPP continues to grow, with approximately 3,000 newly enrolled transfer students from either a community college or other institution this fall semester.
Transfer and Early Education Coordinator Samuel Nieto said that transfer students are resilient, successful and unique. The events this week highlight different aspects of transfer student support to smooth their transition to Cal Poly Pomona.
"We are proud to have campus partners such as ASI and others who support transfer students and their success," Nieto said. "Most importantly, we are proud of our transfer students and believe that National Transfer Student Week is a great way to get involved as a transfer student on campus, meet others and learn more about their future success at CPP."
Dora Lee, director of Academic Support and Learning Services, said that the weeklong event is one of her favorite annual events and encourages everyone on campus to participate.
"We are excited to continue to grow our transfer community on campus and cultivate our transfer-receptive culture," Lee said.
