Professor Emeritus Frederick Louis Capossela, who dedicated 26 years to Cal Poly Pomona and was an early champion of direct marketing died Dec. 27. He was 84.

Capossela joined the College of Business Administration marketing faculty in 1979 after a 20-year career as a producer for CBS News and a senior copywriter for the advertising agency BBDO in New York and Los Angeles. He was full-time faculty until 2005 but continued to teach on campus in a limited capacity until 2010.
