Support CPP Programs, Resources to show Community Strength

Giving Day Graphic with text: April 22-23

Cal Poly Pomona's annual Giving Day taps the university community to support a wide variety of scholarships, programs and resources for students. But this year's campaign on April 22 and 23 has a renewed sense of urgency and purpose - the fundraising campaign will assure students, faculty and staff that the Bronco community will come together in its greatest time of need.

"Giving Day is an opportunity for the Cal Poly Pomona community to support programs across campus they're passionate about. Especially during these unprecedented times, our students need the resources to reach their goals," said Catherine Quirk, leadership annual giving director. "It's exciting to come together during an especially challenging time, and we can show our community that we are stronger together. Gifts of any size will have an immediate impact."

To encourage more gifts, many generous donors have provided a total of more than $110,000 in matches, including an early bird match for the first $2,500 donated on Giving Day.

"We can't thank our matching donors enough - their commitment will inspire others to give and magnify their impact," Quirk said.

Last year, the Giving Day campaign raised $308,543 through 1,077 gifts, an increase of nearly 29 percent in the number of gifts from the previous year. Ambassadors advocate for programs they are most passionate about to help raise funds, including Bronco Dreamers, the Disability Resource Center and the University Library.

Donors are encouraged to give online instead of mailing in gifts, since many Cal Poly Pomona staff are working remotely. The webpage will give a live update of Giving Day gifts provided throughout the 36-hour window. Email givingday@cpp.edu with any questions.
