Recap: Campus Conversation on Student Success

S. Terri Gomez speaks during a campus conversation on Student Success in the Bronco Student Center.

Faculty and staff joined Cal Poly Pomona President Soraya M. Coley and other campus leaders for a Campus Conversation on student success on April 30.

University leaders provided a far-reaching overview of Cal Poly Pomona's holistic approach to student success. Included in the presentation was an update on CPP's progress towards Graduation Initiative 2025 goals, details on student success programs, and a discussion of the connection between student success the campus' Future of Work, Human and Civic Engagement initiative.

An open discussion session with the attendees followed the formal presentation.

President Coley led the presentation, along with Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Sylvia Alva, Vice President for Student Affairs Lea Jarnagin, Associate Vice President for Student Success Terri Gomez, and Associate Vice President for Student Services Eileen Sullivan.

President Coley launched the Campus Conversations in fall 2018 as an opportunity for the campus community to consider important university matters. The first conversation was held Nov. 26, 2018, and focused on the campus budget.
