[UPDATE on 8:15 p.m., Feb. 6]
On Wednesday, February 6, 2019 a Timely Warning bulletin was issued regarding a sexual battery that occurred at 8:15 a.m. As a result of this warning, the University Police Department received numerous phone calls which aided in the investigation. At about 6:00 p.m. the suspect was subsequently arrested for the crime and transported to a local city jail.
This arrest was made possible thanks to the quick response and voluminous assistance from the campus community.

The University Police Department is seeking assistance from the campus community in identifying a suspect who forcibly grabbed a female student.
The victim was walking on Camphor Lane near Building 4 on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at around 8:15 a.m. when she was approached by the suspect. The suspect asked if she was ticklish, grabbed her, then walked towards the Campus Center Marketplace (Building 97).
The suspect was described as a male Hispanic, 18-20 years old, light skinned with black short hair. He was medium height with a skinny build and was wearing a grey long sleeve T-shirt and dark jeans.
Detectives would like to encourage anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has been a victim and not reported it to do so immediately by calling Police Dispatch at 909-869-3070.
