Daniel Parks, the registrar at CSU Chico, has been selected as Cal Poly Pomona's new registrar. He will begin his new post May 23.

Parks has more than 12 years of leadership experience in higher education, with progressive responsibility for overseeing academic and enrollment policies, implementing technology solutions and contributing to student success initiatives. At Chico, he served on the GI2025 committee and helped lead campuswide efforts to develop analytics to minimize students' time to degree and improve retention and graduation rates.

Previously, he was director of Registrar IT Systems and Initiatives at the University of Colorado, Denver. He reorganized the area to better align with PeopleSoft and technology infrastructure on the campus. In addition, Parks guided and oversaw the creation of the strategic plan for the Office of the Registrar.

Parks has a bachelor's degree in political science/criminal justice from Metropolitan State, a master's in public administration from the University Colorado, Denver, and a second master's in higher education leadership and post-master certification in enrollment management from Capella University.

Provost Sylvia A. Alva thanks Christina Beddall for serving as the interim registrar. She also thanks the search committee, co-chaired by Jennifer Andelin and Reza Baghaei-Lakeh, for conducting a smooth and successful search.
