University Police Seeking Information on Recent Thefts

University Police are seeking assistance from the campus community in identifying the suspect or suspects involved in two thefts.

On July 12 at about 3 p.m., a suspect walked into Building 24, classroom 1106 and stole an unattended laptop. A witness described the suspect as a white male adult, in his 30s, wearing a black T-shirt and black shorts.

The second theft occurred on the same day at about 4:30 p.m. at Building 5, office 228. An unattended laptop was taken by a suspect described as a white or Hispanic male adult, in his 20s, wearing a blue short-sleeve shirt, plaid shorts, and tan backpack.

It is unknown if both thefts were committed by the same suspect. The suspect descriptions are similar and the thefts occurred in the same manner within close proximity and time to each other.

Safety Tips: Take extra security precautions. Keep valuables in a locked location when possible and avoid leaving belongings unattended. Be aware of your surroundings. Report suspicious-looking persons or activity to University Police immediately.
