Management expert Peter Senge will address "Leadership & Organizational Learning: Building a Sustainable Future for a Global Society" in a campus lecture on Wednesday, April 22

The discussion, sponsored by the College of Agriculture and the California Agricultural Leadership Foundation, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Bronco Student Center, Ursa Minor.

Senge is a senior lecturer in leadership and sustainability at the MIT Sloan School of Management and founding chair of the Society for Organizational Learning, a global community of corporations, researchers and consultants dedicated to the interdependent development of people and their institutions.

He is the author of the widely acclaimed book "The Fifth Discipline: The Art and Practice of the Learning Organization," of which more than 1 million copies have been sold. Harvard Business Review called it one of the most seminal management books of the past 75 years.

Senge is the co-author of three other books on organizational learning, a contributor of articles in academic journals and the business press, and a lecturer who has appeared around the globe.

He is acknowledged as one of the most influential business management experts in the world. He was named one of the top 10 management gurus by BusinessWeek. The Wall Street Journal called him one of the top 20 most influential business thinkers, while The Journal of Business Strategy named him one of 24 people who has had the greatest influence on business strategy in the past century.

Senge holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from Stanford, and a master's in social systems modeling and a doctorate in management from MIT.
