Cal Poly Pomona's rankings, the Faculty and Staff Campaign and a new app called MyCPP are the top stories in President Ortiz's video message this week.
A new "Social Mobility Index" confirms that Cal Poly Pomona changes students' lives. The index, which was created by PayScale and CollegeNet, ranked the university fourth nationally among educational institutions that help low-income students achieve financial success after graduation.
In addition, the Department of Architecture earned high rankings from DesignIntelligence. It is No. 18 in the United States and No. 5 in the West. Individual programs in the college also achieved high rankings.
The university is launching the second annual Faculty and Staff Campaign to raise funding to support learning opportunities and experiences. The Annual Fund will send information packets through campus mail this week.
The new web application MyCPP will allow students to check a half-dozen sites with a single login, including BroncoDirect, BlackBoard, the Career Center's BroncoConnection and other services. It also will display campus announcements, important dates and a student's to-do list.
