Cal Poly Pomona coaching legends Darlene May and John Scolinos have been selected as members of the inaugural class of the California Collegiate Athletic Association Hall of Fame, conference officials announced Wednesday.

In addition to May and Scolinos, the other four members of the CCAA's inaugural Hall of Fame class are: Cal State L.A.'s Nicole Duncan Chance, Carmelita Jeter of Cal State Dominguez Hills, Cal State San Bernardino's Kim Morohunfola, and former athlete, coach, administrator, and CCAA Commissioner Bob Heigert.

In conjunction with the celebration of the CCAA's 75th Anniversary, the conference created the Hall of Fame to honor its most illustrious student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and benefactors. Cal Poly Pomona also is celebrating its 75th Anniversary during the 2013-14 academic year and in February, the Broncos held an "Evening of Champions" during Homecoming and Family Weekend to re-launch the CPP Athletics Hall of Fame and induct five new members.

The late Darlene May is the all-time winningest coach in the history of CCAA women's basketball after guiding the Bronocs to a 519-119 overall record in her 20 years of service. May also led the Broncos to three of the five CCAA national titles in 1982, 1985, and 1986.

Also making an impact on the campus of Cal Poly Pomona was the late John Scolinos. Scolinos was the head baseball coach from 1962-1991 and during his time with the program was named the NCAA Division II Coach of the Year three times after winning national titles in 1976, 1980, and 1983. He was also selected CCAA Coach of the Year five times, while earning Conference crowns in 1976, 1979, 1980, 1983, 1985, and 1988. He currently ranks sixth in NCAA Division II baseball coaching history with 1,198 victories.

The Conference will host a Hall of Fame reception and dinner to honor the inaugural class on Wednesday, June 4, at the Hilmar Cheese Company restaurant in Hilmar, Calif.
