The Arabian horse breeding program at Cal Poly Pomona is the oldest program of its kind in the country. In fact, the quality of Cal Poly Pomona's program brought Huell Howser to campus in 1993 to film a segment for "Historic Horses," as part of his popular TV series "California's Gold."
The W.K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Center houses around 85 purebred Arabian horses. In addition, the W.K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Library is home to the world's largest public collection of Arabian horse materials. The care and study of Arabian horses is a large part of the university's history and will continue to be a part of what makes Cal Poly Pomona unique.
MediaVision, the on-campus video production team, created this video about W.K. Kellogg's horse ranch and how the ranch became the permanent home for Cal Poly Pomona.
