President's Video Update for April 29

The campus community is invited to meet and ask questions of new CSU Chancellor Timothy White next week, President Ortiz says in his weekly video message.

White will pay his first visit to Cal Poly Pomona on May 7 and 8 since taking office last fall. He will take a campus tour and attend a number of meetings and presentations. Faculty, students and staff can meet White and ask questions at an open forum, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 7 in the Bronco Student Center, Ursa Major.

Stories of Successful Learning takes place Tuesday. The event is a chance to share best practices about learning, with more than 60 poster presentations. It will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Bronco Student Center, Ursa Major Suite.

Although the 75th anniversary is still several months away, the university has found a creative way for everyone to get involved now. The university is holding a contest to see who can design a T-shirt that captures the spirit of Cal Poly Pomona and its 75th anniversary.

The contest is open to all, and the community will have a say in selecting the design on Facebook. The deadline to submit designs is May 17. Contest details are available at the university's 75th anniversary website.
