Business Professor Leads Two Panel Discussions at International Law Weekend

Norman Gregory Young

Norman Gregory Young, a professor in the finance, real estate & law department, organized two panel discussions in the fall quarter during International Law Weekend in New York. The annual event attracts thousands of academics, United Nations diplomats and practicing attorneys.

Young's first panel, "International Investment Law: Educating Lawyers in Law Schools, Firms and at the Bar," focused on the best ways to educate investment lawyers and arbitrators given the proliferation of bilateral and multilateral investment agreements. Speakers on Young's panel included prominent international law expert Professor Andrea Bjorklund of UC Davis. The second panel was a conversation with Meg Kinnear, an expert in international investment law. She also serves as secretary-general of the World Bank's International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes. On average, each panel discussion drew 1,200 audience members.
