Tiffany Dinh of the women's cross country team earned California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Runner of the Week honors for the week of Sept. 10 to 16.
Dinh, a senior from Norwalk, turned in a stellar performance at the UC Riverside Invitational Sept 15. Competing in her first race of the 2012 season, Dinh finished 21st overall out of 132 runners. She crossed the line in 21:24.9, not far off her personal best of 20:54.8.
It marks the third CCAA weekly honor of Dinh's career, which has also featured All-American accolades in cross country and an appearance at the NCAA Division II Track & Field National Championships.
In late August, the Broncos earned a No. 20 spot in the preseason national rankings as released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Dinh and the CPP cross country program will return to action Sept. 29 at the Pomona Pitzer Invitational in Claremont. It'll be a "Pack the Course" event for Broncos' fans, who will receive prizes and food for attending.
