Cal Poly Pomona Day at the Fair

Show your Bronco pride and celebrate Cal Poly Pomona Day at the Los Angeles County Fair on Saturday, Sept. 22.

Students, faculty and staff will receive free admission when they show their Bronco ID card and a printable coupon. Alumni can receive admission for $5 by presenting the alumni coupon.

President and Mrs. Ortiz, along with student leaders and club representatives, will march and ride in a parade at 1 p.m. The parade route will start at the Millard Sheets Center for the Arts, loop around the Outdoor Living and Carnival areas, and end near the Green Gate. Participants include: Billy Bronco, Mr. and Ms. CPP, the Arabian Horse Show Team, ASI leaders, tractors, Tony the Tiger, Outstanding Staff Award recipients, Provost's Award recipients, the SAE Formula race car, the Bronco Pep Band, Children's Center, and the dance and cheer teams.

At 2 p.m. after the parade concludes, students will perform onstage near the Blue Gate. Scheduled performances include: Ballet Folklorico, Bronco Pep Band, Lambda Theta Phi, Barkada, AXIS, a lion dance and many others.

In addition, student clubs and university departments will set up booths from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to provide information about their organizations and the university. The resource fair will be held near the Blue Gate, which is the entrance off White Avenue.

Free shuttles from campus will operate continuously from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. The pickup location is the parking booth near Parking Lot C and the CLA building.

The L.A. County Fair runs from Aug. 31 to Sept. 30 at Fairplex in Pomona. For more information, visit www.lacountyfair.com.
