If you're looking for something to do this weekend that is free and fun for the whole family, head down to the Farm Store at Cal Poly Pomona.
The 6th annual Tractor & Car Show and Strawberry Festival will be held Saturday, May 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will feature tractors and 175 specialty vehicles of nearly all shapes, styles and colors.
Visitors can fill a basket with berries from the strawberry patch for a small fee, and enjoy a variety of strawberry-themed treats, from strawberry snow cones to strawberry funnel cakes. The event will also feature tractor rides, a petting zoo, face painting, horse rides, live music and food vendors.
And in case you need to do a little last-minute Mother's Day shopping, the Farm Store offers an array of gift baskets, confections, wines and flowers, among other treats.
"It's just a really fun day," says Dawn Taccone, manager of the Farm Store and co-coordinator of the event. "I wish the whole community would come out because it's such a great event for kids."
Admission is free, although the food and some activities have a cost. Parking will be available in Lot B for $3 per vehicle. For more information and directions to the Farm Store, visit www.cpp.edu/~farmstore or call (909) 869-4906.
