Spring Career Fair on April 19

With commencement right around the corner, the Career Center will host a week of activities to help students find a job, land a summer internship and improve their presentation skills.

To prepare for the Spring Career Fair on Thursday, April 19, students can perfect their resume and pick up professional attire from the Clothes Closet.

At the Resumaniac event on Tuesday, April 17, employers will critique resumes of students and alumni from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Career Center. No appointment is necessary.

The Career Center Clothes Closet will also be open on April 17 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for students who need professional attire for the fair, an upcoming interview or for work. Alumni, faculty and staff are encouraged to donate gently used clothing, especially men's attire, to the closet.

The career fair, which will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the University Quad, will feature more than 120 employers from a variety of disciplines that are looking to fill full-time, part-time and internship positions. For the first time, the event has merged with the Ag Career Fair, bringing employers from the agriculture industries.

"We are excited that the Spring Career Fair will reach a broader range of employers and students," says Tom Munnerlyn, director of the Career Center. "Ag employers hire students from many majors, including business, marketing, science, teaching, finance and human resources. This is a good opportunity for employers to meet with all of our students at one time."
