Explore Cal Poly Pomona's growing use of technology to enhance learning opportunities on Friday, April 13 through interactive workshops and thought-provoking speakers. POLYTEACH, which will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Bronco Student Center, will start a campus dialogue on technology and the innovative university.

Some of the topics include: using technology to help people learn in different situations, unique ways the campus community is using technology and drawbacks in bringing technology into pedagogy.

Keynote speakers are:

• Charles Dziuban, director of the Research Initiative for Teaching Effectiveness at the University of Central Florida. Since 1996, UCF has supported research investigating the impacts of online and ¿distributed¿ learning on faculty, students and the university.
• Candace Thille, director of the Open Learning Initiative at Carnegie Mellon University. The initiative ¿brings together faculty subject experts, learning researchers, and software engineers to build open online courses grounded in the science of how people learn.¿ (Chronicle of Higher Education, 26 Feb. 2012)
