Social Media Expert Kicks Off Executive Speaker Series

Beverly Macy, co-author of "The Power of Real-Time Social Media Marketing"\

Author and educator Beverly Macy will speak on ¿Social Media in Business: Create a Buzz and Strengthen your Brand¿ at the first Executive Speaker Series event of the year on Thursday, Nov. 3. The kick-off event, which is open to alumni, university and business community, will be held at 6 p.m. at Kellogg West.

Macy, co-author of ¿The Power of Real-Time Social Media Marketing,¿ is CEO of Gravity Summit Inc., an organization that provides strategic advisory services and produces social media marketing conferences for businesses and organizations. She has spoken at and consulted for global non-profits, government agencies, and Fortune 500 companies, including Toyota, the Walt Disney Company and Boeing. Macy is also a regular contributor to the Huffington Post.

¿Social media is such an important tool to have, especially in business and marketing. Learning how to use it correctly is a critical first step,¿ says Janeth Rodriguez, assistant director of Alumni Affairs.

Co-sponsored by Office of Alumni Affairs and the College of Business Administration Alumni Chapter, the event begins at 6 p.m. with networking and a book signing. Macy will speak at 7 p.m., with a Q&A to follow. Light refreshments will be served.

The cost is $25 for Alumni Association members and $35 for non-Alumni Association Members. There is no cost for students, faculty and staff.
