Cal Poly Pomona will receive an Environmental Leadership Award from the Irwindale Chamber of Commerce Environmental Committee for implementing and achieving significant reduction in the campus' carbon footprint. The chamber's awards program recognizes the efforts and diligence of businesses in environmental issues.

Other award recipients this year include: MillerCoors, Water Conservation Award; Foothill Transit, Energy Preservation Award; and Citrus College, Environmental Innovation Award. The awards will be presented at a luncheon on Sept. 1. The event will also include a Green Business Expo at the City of Hope Cooper Auditorium, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
