MediaVision, Public Affairs Team Up for Video Award

I&IT's eLearning MediaVision unit and the Office Public Affairs have won a silver award from the CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education) District VII Award of Excellence competition for the "This is Cal Poly Pomona" comprehensive campaign video.

CASE will present the award, in the "Video Fundraising Features" category, at a luncheon on March 5 in Los Angeles.

The two departments collaborated on the months-long project, which was the first of its kind for both teams, and received tremendous support from the campus community. For every person who appeared on camera, there was another individual who volunteered behind-the-scenes, including theatre Professor Linda Bisesti, who assisted in the audio recording studio, and Dean of Students Rebecca Gutierrez Keeton, who recruited the crowd of students for the closing shot. Music Professor Mark Chubb volunteered his time during the summer to score the video in his home studio.

The CASE District VII annually recognizes excellence and best practices in alumni relations, fundraising, public/government relations, advancement services, special events and outstanding communications. District VII includes Arizona, California, Guam, Hawaii, Nevada and Utah.

The MediaVision staff includes Jason Beers, Rick Cass, Karen Brzoska, Richard Garippo, Imran Hamid, Trevor Henderson, Terry Hogan, April McKettrick and Hye Ok Park, as well as student assistants Desiree Duzich and Cinthya Martinez. The Public Affairs staff includes Esther Chou, Ron Fremont, Michelle Magcalas, Tim Lynch, Uyen Mai, Ani Markarian, Tambra Williams and Tom Zasadzinski.
