The Residential Suites Phase II, which will open to students in the fall, will have a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, May 26 at noon.
The unveiling of the Bronco Statue, located between Building 54 and the Kellogg Gym, will take place at 1 p.m. Tours of the rooms and the Vista Cafe multipurpose room will be given from 1 to 2 p.m.
Cal Poly Pomona began the $76 million project to expand the Residential Suites in May 2008. The new complex includes three housing facilities - Vista de las Estrellas, Vista de las Montanas and Vista de la Luna - that will create space for 622 beds in popular suite layouts. Each suite includes a living room, kitchenette area, bedrooms, full-size bathrooms, storage space, private patios/balconies, and every room is equipped with high-speed Internet and satellite television.
The newly expanded Vista Cafe and convenience store will serve 1,000 residents and up to 3,000 students, faculty and staff daily. An indoor/outdoor multipurpose space will facilitate community meetings and various programs.
