Mike Scioscia Dinner Fundraiser

Mike Scioscia, manager of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

Mike Scioscia, manager of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and 2009 American League Manager of the Year, will be the keynote speaker a Hot Stove Dinner on Feb. 6. The dinner will benefit Cal Poly Pomona's baseball team.

The cost is $175, and the event begins at 6 p.m. at Buca di Beppo Restaurant, 505 W. Foothill Blvd., Claremont.

"Having Mike spend time with us is a great way to begin the 2010 season," says Broncos baseball coach Mike Ashman. "Cal Poly Pomona is proud of its long-time association with Angels baseball, and having the best manager in Major League Baseball will guarantee a night that will be fun for everyone."

Cal Poly Pomona begins the day with its annual alumni baseball game at 11 a.m. at Scolinos Field.

The evening event will also feature an announcement of a major gift from a former Bronco player. Scioscia will participate in a Q&A session, and guests can bid on silent and live auctions.

Auction items include:

  • An opportunity for four to watch batting practice before an Angels game, along with four tickets to that game during the 2010 season.
  • All-Star game package for two for this year's Major League Baseball All-Star Game that will be played at Angel Stadium on July 13. This package includes: two tickets to the All-Star Fan Fest, All-Star Sunday, Workout tickets, Game tickets, Gala tickets and Pre-Game celebration tickets and Limo service to and from the All-Star Game.
