Test Preparation
The LRC offers test-preparation services for the following exams.
ALEKS Placement, Preparation and Learning (ALEKS PPL)
ALEKS Placement, Preparation and Learning (ALEKS PPL) offers colleges & universities a complete solution for math placement and course preparedness. Combining a research-based, accurate placement assessment with personalized learning tools to help students refresh on lost knowledge, ALEKS PPL gives students the opportunity to succeed before they even begin class. ALEKS PPL is a combined placement assessment that places Mathematical Analysis (for Mat 1050, Mat 1060, Mat 1250, Mat 1910, and Sta 1200) through Pre-Calculus/Calculus Readiness (for Mat 1140, Mat 1200, and Mat 1300). The LRC offers students Math Analysis and Pre-Calculus/Calculus study guides, practice tests, workshops, and one-on-one and group tutoring.
All Cal Poly Pomona students must pass the GWT in order to graduate. The LRC Writing Center offers helpful tips, study skills, workshops, and practice essay prompts for students preparing for the GWT. Please click the GWT link above to access all materials.
Due to COVID-19, the GWT requirement has been suspended as a condition of graduation for spring 2020 and summer 2020. If you have questions about the GWT, please email studentsuccess@cpp.edu.
