Lightning Talk Guidelines and Deadlines:

Your slide pack of up to 10 slides must be sent to serenachun@cpp.edu by 12pm noon on Friday, September 6th, so that we can load the individual packs into the master pack and run the entire set of presentations to ensure formatting etc. are not impacted. We want to have time to resolve any problems before the day. Please use Microsoft PowerPoint (not Keynotes or another piece of software--many thanks) and use the default widescreen (16:9) format. Please make sure that you have one at the beginning with your name and talk title and some form of a "the end" slide as your last slide. There will be 30 seconds given per slide. The lightning talks at the conference will be organized under three themes: Equity in Practice, Program Overview, and Best Practice for HSI (Hispanic-Serving Institutions) Servingness. These themes are designed to foster a deeper understanding of various approaches to enhancing educational experiences.

Each presenter must submit a slide pack consisting of exactly 10 slides. The first slide should include your name and the title of your paper, and the final slide should indicate the end of the presentation. Please ensure all slides are created in Microsoft PowerPoint using the default widescreen (16:9) format.

Your complete slide pack must be emailed to serenachun@cpp.edu by 12pm noon on Friday, September 6th. This allows the conference organizers time to integrate your slides into the master pack and resolve any formatting issues in advance.

Each slide in your presentation will be displayed for 30 seconds. The rapid progression of slides, concluding with your final slide, embodies the "lightning" aspect of your presentation. You will have 8 slides to present your content, aside from the introductory and concluding slides.

Yes, please use Microsoft PowerPoint to create your slides. Other software like Keynote is not recommended as the conference system is optimized for presentations made in PowerPoint.
