About Me

Dr. Nagao earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology and Master’s degree in Medical Pharmacology from UCLA ( https://www.ucla.edu /). At UCLA, she worked in research related to the structural biology of the adenovirus penton base. Dr. Nagao received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine ( https://vet.osu.edu/ ). After graduating veterinary school, she did a rotating surgical and medical internship at VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital. In subsequent years, while practicing, she also earned my Certificate in Veterinary Acupuncture from Chi University (https://chiu.edu/) and my Certification in Canine Rehabilitation Therapy from the Canine Rehabilitation Institute (https://www.caninerehabinstitute.com/). 

After her internship, Dr. Nagao worked in general practice (both private and corporate owned) for 17 years. During the pandemic, she transferred her focus to animal welfare and worked for Wallis Annenberg PetSpace ( https://www.annenbergpetspace.org/ ) where she trained veterinary interns in surgery and anesthesia. She also participated in high volume spay/neuter clinics, vaccine clinics, and wellness clinics for rescues and in underserved communities.
