Dr. Omar is an Associate Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering department, College of Engineering at California polytechnic State University - Pomona. Dr. Omar earned his Ph.D. from the Electrical Engineering department at Iowa State University, USA. He has 25+ years of experience in both academia and industry serving in different roles at engineering and technology systems domains. Dr. Omar specialization is in the area of Computer Engineering with focus on computing and networking. His research interests include broadband wireless networks, Software defined networks, CyberSecurity in IoT, and big data systems. He has publications in the areas of fault-tolerance for small cells locations planning in 4G/5G and broadband networks resources optimization Dr. Omar is currently the secretary of the computing and information technology division at the American Society for Engineering Education. He has interests in developing pedagogical research related to educational programs in wireless networks security.
