Bio

Dr. Randy Stein is an Associate Professor of Marketing in the College of Business Administration. He received his Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Yale University. Prior to joining the faculty of Cal Poly Pomona, Dr. Stein worked at Material Plus where he executed advanced customer analytics on a wide range of studies for several Fortune 500 companies. He researches how people reason about what's true and what's not, and how that impacts other decisions they make. He has also published in the Journal of Consumer Research, Communication Research, the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, Social and Personality Psychology Compass, Social Psychological and Personality Science, Venture Capital, and Consciousness and Cognition. His work has also been featured on TheConversation.com and the Hear Me Out podcast. Dr. Stein has been a faculty mentor for several students research projects funded by the Learn Through Discovery Projects Hatchery Program. Dr. Stein has taught several courses including Consumer Behavior, Principles of Marketing Management, Advanced Marketing Research, and other marketing courses.
