Bio

Dr. Wadhwa is a Full Professor of Management and Leadership in the College of Business Administration (CBA) at Cal Poly Pomona (CPP) and also serves as a Faculty Fellow for the Office of Academic Innovation. Besides her doctorate in management, she has a master’s degree in Sociology, and a second master’s in Leadership Development. What excites her the most about CPP is witnessing transformations in students over time. Therefore, she strives to facilitate transformative experiences for her students so as to ensure their academic and career success.

Dr. Wadhwa teaches management and leadership-focused courses both in the undergraduate program at CBA and in multiple graduate program offerings by the Singelyn Graduate School of Business at CPP. Dr. Wadhwa has an extensive industry experience as a leader in the areas of talent acquisition, training, and development, and related human resources functions in the for-profit sector. She has also consulted for agencies such as the United Nations World Food Program, United Nation Development Fund for Women, World Bank, and Plan International on various women and child development and urban development issues in developing countries.

As a teacher-scholar, Dr. Wadhwa’s expertise and interests broadly include team dynamics, organizational transformations, DEI, strategic human resources management, and developmental relationships with a focus on how employees experience work. Her research has been published in reputed Management Journals including Academy of Management Learning and Education (AMLE), European Business Review, and Gender in Management: An International Journal among others. She regularly presents at the premier management conferences including the Academy of Management, Western Academy of Management, Southern Management Association, MOBTS, and USASBE. Besides reviewing and presenting her work at these conferences, she has served in leadership roles in quite a few of these professional organizations. Currently she serves on the Executive Board of Management Education and Development (MED) Division of the Academy of Management (AOM) and has also been the co-chair of the Junior Faculty and Doctoral Students Consortium offered by the division since 2021.
