Dr. Povich's students have successfully pursued numerous undergraduate research internships, admission to graduate school in astronomy, physics, and related fields, and secured jobs in various professions, including aerospace, satellite remote sensing, and teaching. Many of these students have enrolled in supervised research or senior project courses (e.g. AST 2000/4000, PHY 4610+4620).

He has taught the following regular semester courses at CPP (beginning with the most recent):

Prior to semester conversion in 2018, Dr. Povich taught the yearlong calculus-based introductory physics sequence, 2-quarter advanced electricity and magnetism sequence, 2-quarter advanced astrophysics sequence, and piloted observational astronomy as 1-quarter special topics course.
