Mahmood Ibrahim is a Professor Emeritus at Cal Poly Pomona. He is a specialist in the history of the Middle East and North Africa, currently conducting research on the natural and environmental history of the province of Damascus during the early Mamluk period, along with a research project across the Mediterranean sea that will produce a biography of The Chief Qadi of Seville during the Almoravid period, Abu Bakr ibn al-Arabi al-Ma'afiri. He was the 2016 recipient of the George Hart Award for Service at Cal Poly Pomona, and is the recipient of several Fulbright II-E awards.
