Thank you for your interest in joining my research group at CPP. I involve students actively in my research and am thrilled you want to be a part of our group. Working in a lab is a big commitment and I would like students in my lab who are dedicated to the work and enjoy conducting research.
I require several things before students are considered to join my lab:
At least one-year commitment
Two letters of recommendation that need to be sent directly to me
A CV listing your experiences and/or classes/labs you’ve taken and clubs (or other things) you’re involved with
Permission to view your transcripts
Once all of these have been received, I will schedule two short interviews with you. The first one will be with my students in the lab. I think it is important to make sure that you feel like you will be able to work in the lab with the other students (so this interview is just as important for you as it is for me). The second interview will be with me. In this second interview we will talk more specifically about potential projects, time commitment and expectations.
