Irma Ramirez has expertise in housing and urban design, and focuses on community-based design, design-build, interdisciplinary practice, and service learning. She collaborates with Cal Poly Pomona's Habitat 21 Sustainable Settlements Project, non-profit organizations in Tijuana Mexico, and is founder of the ENV China Program in Beijing. Her awards include NCARB’s Grand Prize for sustainable housing in Tijuana Mexico (co-awarded) and the National Lynton Citation for Distinguished Engaged Scholarship (New England Resource Center for Higher Education).
