Dr. Hofu Wu is an architect, designer and building scientist. He is the founder of Wu+ Architects and Professor with tenure in the Department of Architecture at Cal Poly Pomona. He specialize in integrated sustainable design with advanced technology to achieve NZE building performance. His recent research on healthcare facility planning and design becomes an integral part of the new healthcare initiative of the department.
Dr. Wu is a fellow of the American Institute of Architects and public board member of the AIA 's Pasadena-Foothill chapter. He has taught building science and design studios at Cal Poly Pomona since 1990. He has authored numerous technical papers and research reports funded by government, utilities, and private companies. He has served in servel technical committees of ASHRAE that generate standards for building energy and system performances. He is also the departmental Taiwan International Exchange program coordinator and is an honorary Chair Professor of Architecture at NTUST.
Wu received a Bachelor of Architecture from Tamkang University in Taiwan, a Masters of Architecture from University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, and a Doctor of Architecture from The University of Michigan. Before joining Cal Poly Pomona, Dr. Wu previously taught at Arizona State University and the University of Michigan.
