About me

Hao Ji is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. He received the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Old Dominion University in 2016, advised by Prof. Yaohang Li. Prior to this, he studied Data Visualization in the Visualization and Cooperative Computing Lab at Hefei University of Technology. He received the Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics and the Master's degree in Computer Science from Hefei University of Technology in 2007 and 2010, respectively.

 

His research interests include Large-scale Numerical Methods, High-performance Computing, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and Physically-based Animation. His research projects have been supported by NSF, NASA, XSEDE, and Cal Poly Pomona. He received the Modeling and Simulation research fellowship from the Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation center at Old Dominion University. He received the Gene Newman awards for excellence in Modeling and Simulation research at Old Dominion University and the Provost's Teacher-Scholar Awards at California State Polytechnic University.

 

Student Research Assistant PositionsWe currently have multiple paid positions for Student Research Assistants open to candidates with a strong foundation in numerical methods and experience with one of the following areas,

  • Graph neural networks
  • Optimization methods for machine learning/deep learning
  • GPU parallel computing
  • 3D object detection and segmentation
  • Adversarial machine learning
