About Me

Gary Lai is a thought leader in sustainability, resiliency, and Nature-based Design with over thirty years’ experience as a landscape architect. His interest in drawing and environmentalism as a child led him to a field that he describes as the ‘architecture of living things’ with an immense potential to impact quality of life for future generations. Gary is currently the Principal of Quixotic Nature-based Solutions, a small landscape architecture and sustainability consulting firm based in Pasadena, CA. His commitment to environmental advocacy is reflected in his teaching, speaking engagements and his active involvement as Chair of the Board for USGBC California.
