Dr. Frank Wen is the Manager of Planning Strategy Department since July 1, 2020 with Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG). Previously Dr. Wen was Manager of Research and Analysis between 2012 and June 2020. Frank joined SCAG in 1988 and served as Senior Economist between 1993 and 2005. His researches and assignments include: collaborating with universities and research/planning agencies nationally and internationally, producing SCAG region growth forecasts, translating growth and demographic trends into policy implications, conducting economic impact analysis and environmental justice analysis for Regional Transportation Plan/Sustainable Community Strategies (SCS).
Dr. Wen recently completed the teaching classes—Demography and Built Environment” at Cal Poly Pomona in Winter Quarter 2018, and “The Just City” in the Fall Semester 2018, 2019, and Spring Semester of 2020.
Dr. Wen received both M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Applied Economics from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Dr. Wen took Microeconomics and Econometrics classes offered by 2006 Nobel Laureate Professor Leonid Hurwicz and 2011 Nobel Laureate Professor Christopher A. Sims.
