Ata Khan (he/him/his) is Planning Manager of the Planning Division in the City of Pomona, where he oversees daily operations. His team is currently implementing multiple planning efforts in Pomona, including the first comprehensive update to Pomona’s zoning code since 1949, a SCAG-funded citywide Complete Streets ordinance, and a new Environmental Justice and Public Health Element in the Pomona General Plan. Ata also manages the City’s Art in Public Places Program, which administers the one-percent Public Art Fund on qualified public art projects. Ata received a Master’s in Urban & Regional Planning from University of California, Irvine, and a Bachelor of Arts in Environment, Economics & Politics from Claremont McKenna College. He currently lectures URP 4850, Urban Design Principles and Techniques, and URP 4510, Land Use and Urban Design Policy.
