Dr. Andrew Davis has been teaching in the IGE Program since 2007. He has a Master's Degree in Folklore and Mythology (UCLA 1993) and a Doctorate in Performance Studies (NYU 2000). He has taught in interdisciplinary programs at Otis College of Art and Design and at The Cooper Union in New York City, and in theatre departments at Cal Poly Pomona and at NYU. Dr. Davis has written two award-winning books, America's Longest Run: The History of the Walnut Street Theatre (Best Book on Theatre in 2010 from the American Theatre and Drama Society) and Baggy Pants Comedy: Burlesque and the Oral Tradition (CHOICE Award as an Outstanding Academic Title of 2012 from the American Library Association). He performs regularly as half of the comedy team of Doc and Stumpy at local burlesque shows and at variety arts festivals around the U.S.
