Erik Rolland

Since 2016, Erik Rolland has served as the Dean of the College of Business at Cal Poly Pomona, and since 2020, he is also the interim Dean of the College of the Extended University and the campus’ senior international officer.  Erik previously held faculty and leadership positions within the University of California, where he served as Department Chair and Associate Dean for the School of Business, and Director of the Heckman Center for International Entrepreneurship at UC Riverside.  More recently Erik helped build up the E&J Gallo School of Management at UC Merced, where he also served as Dean of the School of Engineering and served in the provost’s office.  His prior experience includes serving on the faculty in the Accounting & MIS department at the Ohio State University, where he also received his Ph.D.  Prior to working in academia, Erik worked in business consulting and served as an army officer.   Erik’s research is in the areas of information systems, economics, analytics, leadership, and strategy, and he has published over 100 articles in academic journals.  During the past 3 decades, Erik has also served as a consultant and board member to major organizations in Europe, North America, China, South Korea and Japan.
