For students who enroll in a Teaching Credential program after completing a master’s degree program:
- Eligibility for financial aid will be based on your status as a Graduate student while you are completing your master’s degree program.
Once you have completed your master’s degree program and enrolled in a Teaching Credential program, your financial aid eligibility for your Teaching Credential program will be based on your status as a Teaching Credential Student.
- Review the Understanding Enrollment Requirements page on the Financial Aid & Scholarships website for details regarding how your enrollment impacts the various types of financial aid.
- The Earned Unit Maximums for the State University Grant are based on total earned (completed) units. Enrolling in courses that are not required for your master’s degree prior to officially adding a Credential program may result in exhausting your eligibility for the State University Grant.
Once you begin your Teaching Credential Program, your eligibility for State University Grant will be based on the unit maximums for the Teaching Credential Program.
- The Maximum Timeframe Standard under our Satisfactory Academic Progress for Financial Aid Applicants is based on total units attempted while pursuing your program. Enrolling in courses that are not required for your master’s degree prior to officially adding a Credential program may result in exhausting your overall eligibility for financial aid prior to completing your program.
