Who Could Have Dared: The Antigone Project

A Reading

Based on Antigone by Sophocles and the adaptation by Jean Anouilh
Directed by Melissa Chalsma

This new theatrical collage is a vibrant take on the classic Greek story of Antigone, set against the protest and political upheavals of Ancient Greece, 1940s occupied France, and modern day 2024. The new King Creon is desperate to gain control over a city ravaged by civil war and refuses to bury the body of Antigone's rebellious brother. Outraged, she defies him and honors her brother, sparking Creon to take action against her and risk the wrath of the gods. This play reading includes some audience interaction - you’ve been warned!
