GIS Day 2024

This year's CPP GIS Day saw a successful engagement of community, academia, and industry leaders across presentations, showcased work, and GIS speakers! It was kicked off with words of welcome from the Dean of CLASS, Dr. Camille Johnson, followed by the keynote speaker and mayor of pomona, Tim Sandoval.

Our event moderator, professor Dr. Rachel Blakey, led us through the morning with our GIS panel consisting of Diana DeGroot - CPP Alumna and Associate Environmental Planner at Caltrans, Sophia Garcia - Equity and Civic Nonprofits Lead at Esri, and Finn Swann - Water Industry Specialist at Esri.

GIS Day activities included Intro to Pathways by professor Dr. Eliud "Eddie" Partida, Talking Trash by professor Dr. Janel Ortiz, & geocaching by professor Dr. Kelly Huh.
