On behalf of the faculty, university supervisors, and staff of the Education Department, we wish you a heartfelt congratulations. We know that completing your credential is an enormous task, which involves completing coursework; passing critical exams; growing professionally; meeting financial obligations; and juggling the demands of school, work, and family. Yet you remained driven to achieve these goals and have risen to the challenges that came before you.

Our programs are fully accredited by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing and meet state teacher preparation standards. Our programs prepare you to meet the Teaching Performance Expectations and apply student-centered approaches to equip your students for success. Earn Your Single Subject Teaching Credential in 1 Year
Cal Poly Pomona undergraduates* can begin taking credential courses in their undergraduate studies to earn a Single Subject Credential in 2 semesters with full-time attendance after completing their bachelor’s degree. Students with degrees from other universities can take all foundations courses through Summer Admission, followed by 2 semesters of full-time attendance. For more information, please click here.
Information Sessions
Interested in a career in teaching? Attend an information session. You can register by completing this Google Form. These sessions offer you the opportunity to learn more about our credential programs, application process and program admission requirements. We discuss the following programs during each session:
- Multiple Subject (Elementary Teacher)
- Single Subject (Middle School or High School)
- Education Specialist Mild/Moderate and Moderate/Severe (Special Education Teacher)
- Combined Master's Degree and Teaching Credential Program
