Interview with Linda Sea

July 2021

Hello! My name is Linda, and I am a Senior graduating Fall 2021! I transferred from Long Beach City College in Fall 2019. I am majoring in Business Administration with an emphasis in Technology Operations Management. My plan is to hopefully go on a trip to Cambodia to visit my Mom’s side of the family and learn more about my culture and to hear all the stories I heard from my parents from another perspective. I hope to be able to retell my family’s story. I’m really interested in product management. I was introduced to the career after visiting a friend who works at DropBox as a UX designer. I was able to get a tour of the office and meet his coworkers. I would like to get into the tech industry because there is so much growth and you’re not completely set on one career path. I haven’t truly figured out what I wanted to do yet, but I think going into tech is a step in the right direction. I just accepted an internship offer with DHL Supply Chain. I’ll be an Industrial Engineer Intern this summer! My advice would be to ask questions and absorb that knowledge. Learning doesn’t stop after college. Following that, my next advice would be to build your LinkedIn. Build your connections. Add me on there! It is a valuable resource and it is completely free! My last tip for you is that don’t give up. I have an email folder full of rejections. Out of the hundreds applications I’ve sent out, I only had 2 offers. Rejection is not failure. All you need is that one “yes”. It only gets better from here.
