Minor Options

Students Interested in Minoring

Students can review the minor options and courses required to complete a minor on the CBA Catalog .
The TOM Department offers the following minor options:

  • Operations Management Minor
  • Supply Chain/Logistics Minor

If you plan to minor, we strongly recommend contacting a CBA Student Success Center Advisor to draft an efficient educational plan completing your major and minor.


Minor Course Substitution Requests

There are some cases of completed courses from other departments may fulfill the minor course requirements. In those cases, you will need to check with the TOM department and fill out the following form: Minor Course Substitution Request Form - (PDF).

**Please note students can only submit the substitution request to our department AFTER declaring the minor and it shows on your BroncoDirect.

Operations Management Minor

The Operations Management minor is designed to allow students in other business subplans or students majoring in non-business programs to gain the necessary analytical and information technology skills for effective and efficient management of the business processes involved in the production and delivery of goods and services. This includes any kind of organization from service firms to modern manufacturing and not-for-profit organizations. With more than 50% of all jobs in operations or a related field such as purchasing, logistics and distribution, supply chain management, inventory control, production management, manufacturing or service quality control, and project management, the minor will substantially enhance students' career opportunities and growth potential.

Total required for the program: 18 units

Supply Chain/Logistics Minor

The Logistics Minor is the only program of its kind in the California State University system. The Logistics Minor was developed to allow Business Administration majors or students majoring in non-business programs to gain the knowledge and skills needed to gain employment in the field of transportation, warehousing, logistics, planning, materials management, and physical distribution. In addition to the job opportunities that are available in the domestic arena, openings also exist in the international arena. Demand greatly exceeds supply both nationally and internationally for logistics managers.
