Interview with Monika Raghuvanshi

I am Monika Raghuvanshi, an international student hailing from India and a proud alumna of Cal Poly Pomona's Singelyn Graduate School. In 2023, I successfully attained a Master of Science in Business Analytics, complementing my academic foundation in Computer Science and Engineering. My professional journey includes roles as an analyst across diverse sectors, with a specialization in database management and SQL proficiency. During my enriching two-year tenure at Cal Poly Pomona, under the guidance of esteemed professors and alongside my talented peers, I evolved into a skilled data-driven storyteller. My academic journey was enriched with hands-on experiences, emphasizing practical problem-solving and collaborative teamwork. Noteworthy projects include contributions to the University Advancement Business Analytics Project, Meta Reality Labs Analytics Project, and the identification of COVID-19 vaccine misinformation on Twitter using text analytics. Additionally, I successfully categorized credit card transactions into fraud and non-fraud using regression analysis and identified investment opportunities within the California hotel real estate market. These projects deepened my understanding of coursework and its real-world implementation, ultimately leading to my current role as a Business Intelligence Developer at Tri Pointe Homes.
