Interview with Jasmin Zeng

Hi! My name is Jasmin, a full-time student in MS Digital Supply Chain Management planning to graduate this August. I recently started working as a graduate student assistant at the TOM Department, and a global logistics specialist at a company in Orange County.

Before coming to Cal Poly, I finished my undergrad at UC Davis, then worked shortly as an Area Manager at Amazon, and an HR at a startup marketing company. For my experience at Amazon and the current logistics company, everyday is fast-paced and I think decision making and critical thinking might be just as important as technical skills. I enjoy gaining new knowledge in most industries, but my major interests are digital supply chain in the entertainment and digital media industry. After graduation, I plan to continue to work in logistics first, and explore other aspects of supply chain management as I look for more opportunities.

Advice

I recommend studying for a certificate that suits your professional interests. For those interested in the area manager position at amazon, I recommend learning a bit about the warehouse environment before application, and check out the online resources that talk about this position. These materials definitely helped me land that previous offer. At last, enjoy networking! Not to mention the chances that might come with it, but it also has been motivating to see the people working in similar industries and learn about their cool experiences.
