Interview with Alireza Yazdani
February 2021
My name is Alireza Yazdani. I am an Assistant Professor of Technology and Operations Management at the College of Business Administration, and have been part of the faculty since 2019. I hold a PhD in Operations and Business Analytics from University of Oregon, and have completed both my BS in Industrial Engineering and MBA from Sharif University of Technology in Iran. I have worked for around eight years in auto manufacturing, petroleum, and banking software industries.
My research interests broadly fall within the retail operations area. I am interested in firms’ operations design facing strategic consumer behavior. Generally, I am keen on the applications of game theory, dynamic programming, and business analytics in product line design, product variety, pricing, and e-tailing. On the teaching front, my interests range from operations and supply chain management to more data-oriented courses such as business analytics and data mining.
