Danita Dodson, an Ahimsa Fellow, is trained in the principles of nonviolence. She is co-editor of the book Teachers Teaching Nonviolence (2020). Since 2015 she has served as an associate editor for the annual Ahimsa Center Newsletter.
She is a prolific poet, publishing two books of poetry recently: The Medicine Woods (2022), a thoughtful vision of oneness of life as a planetary future; and Trailing the Azimuth (2021), a collection of poems in search for directions, prompting a journey with mindfulness.
She holds a Ph.D. in twentieth-century American and British Literature from the University of Southern Mississippi. A former high school teacher for three decades, she currently teaches at the Walter State Community College. For more, visit: www.danitadodson.com.
